We would like to introduce a case study by Professor Jun Sawai from the Department of Applied Chemistry at Kanagawa Institute of Technology. The samples used were "The Bio Water Modified Water," "Tap Water," "Distilled Water," and "Sterilized Distilled Water." 500ml of each of the four samples was prepared in two sterilized beakers. We present a case study measuring the antioxidant capacity of The Bio Water Modified Water (flow treatment type direct connection) compared to tap water. By artificially generating a type of reactive oxygen species called superoxide, we measured which had a greater ability to eliminate superoxide when modified water was added versus when tap water was added, using the electron spin resonance (ESR) method. Tap water eliminated 40 units, while modified water eliminated 86 units, indicating that modified water has 2.15 times the reactive oxygen species removal capability of tap water.
